Sushi rice is a popular product. Here is the correct method to measure sushi rice with the miniLab pH meter:
1. Prepare 1:9 sushi rice preparation by weighing 1 ounce of sushi rice and placing it in a clean glass cup that has
been pre-rinsed with distilled water.
2. Weigh 9 ounces of distilled water and pour it into the glass cup containing the 1 ounce sushi rice.
3. Gently mix with a clean spoon to fully disperse the rice in the distilled water.
4. Calibrate meter per manufacturer specifications.
5. Rinse meter probe carefully with distilled water and blot dry.
6. Immerse probe into the sushi rice dilution solution until the reading stabilizes. Gentle mixing during this process
is suggested.
7. Read and record the pH value.
8. Store the measurement device per package insert recommendations.

Always read package insert instructions and follow them carefully. Calibrate all devices prior to each set of sushi rice measurements. Use only distilled water. Store it at room temperature. Always make sure sushi rice and water are equilibrated to room temperature before mixing and measuring pH. Always blend sushi rice sample prior to diluting and measuring pH.
The operational maximum pH limit of 4.5 pH should ensure the actual pH value is sufficiently below the pH 4.6 maximum stated for Sushi Rice pH.
